REGISTRATION DATES: Saturday, June 6 - Sunday, June 28
GAME DATES: Wednesdays, July 8, 15, 22, 29 & August 5, 12, 19
GAME LOCATION: Campbell Recreation Area, 12385 Woodlands Pkwy, Clive, IA 50325
COST: $35 per player
EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Cleats, with no metal spikes, are encouraged but not required. For safety purposes, all players must have athletic footwear.
TEAM SIZE: Teams of 16-22 players
- Teams are considered complete once they have 16+ registered players. This means that a team is guaranteed a spot in the upcoming season. Any team with less than 16 players at the close of registration will receive free agents to meet the required number of players per team. Any team with less than 11 players is subject to being split to complete other teams. Free agents will not be assigned to any team with 16 or more players without consent from the Team Captain. You do not need a team to register. Free agents wishing to play together may register in a small group (up to 5 individuals). Free agents are guaranteed a spot within the league. We welcome our free agents!
- Please bear in mind that we do not permit subs in our kickball league to ensure players have been provided with rules and league expectations prior to gameplay. Subs may ONLY be utilized in a situation where a team would have less than 8 members of their registered roster, bringing the team to no more than 8 players.
SCHEDULE
- Regular season games will be on Wednesday evenings with a tournament to be held on the final week (August 19). Games will take place between 6-10 p.m. with every effort to streamline the schedule for teams. It is possible that teams may have double headers this season to maximize gameplay.
DIVISIONS
- This year, we are working diligently to get to 8 teams so we can create recreational and competitive divisions - BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please encourage others to join the league and/or consider splitting your team if you have a roster that is divided on recreational or competitive play. If registration permits at least 4 teams in each division, we will proceed with a division format. Please remember that the intent of the game is to have fun!
SELF-RANKING
Players will be asked to self-rank themselves during registration. This ranking will help us survey the league’s current skill level.
- A Level 1 player has never played kickball and may be unsure of their level of play. A returning player should not rank themselves a Level 1 player.
- A Level 2 player has previously played kickball but may still be fairly new to the sport. They understand the basics but and most general game mechanics, but may not be interested in more strategic play.
- A Level 3 player has played kickball. They have an intermediate understanding of game rules and mechanics and are interested in moderately strategic play.
- A Level 4 player has played several seasons of kickball and/or has a more thorough understanding of the rules and game mechanics. They want to continue refining their skills and to play at a more strategic and competitive level.
- A Level 5 player has played several seasons of kickball and has a strong understanding of the rules, game mechanics, and skills. They are interested in strategic and competitive play.
REGISTRATION
- Players may register as a Team Captain, Team Player, Free Agent, or Small Group (Free Agents). A Team Player must verify their position with Team Captain before registration. Team Captains may remove Team Players without verified permission so long as the team has a complete roster.
RULES
*NEW IN 2026*
- Each team will be required to have at least one umpire on roster, who has previously umped, or who will complete an umpire training at the Kickball Clinic on July 1. If you are unable to attend the July 1 training, limited availability to train during Week One of games may be available but must be communicated to the league commissioner. Teams will also be asked to base ref approximately every other week. This may be done by anyone on the team with a clear understanding of the rules.
